Data Operation Engineer

Introduction & Summary

We are seeking a qualified Talend Data Operations Engineer to become an essential part of our data platform team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional Agile squads including data architects, product owners, developers, and business analysts, to create and maintain robust data pipelines and operational frameworks. Your expertise will ensure smooth end-to-end data operations across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging Talend, BigQuery, and other tools to enhance system performance and security.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain production Talend jobs in GCP.
• Handle support tickets, incidents, and corrective maintenance.
• Execute service requests such as production deployments.
• Perform platform maintenance following system patching or upgrades.
• Renew SSL certificates and maintain security compliance.
• Oversee production stability through proactive monitoring.
• Work closely with data architects and product owners for solution quality.
• Contribute to best practices in code versioning and CI/CD automation.
• Continuously improve processes to ensure operational excellence.
• Deliver high-quality data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making.

Key Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Operations Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Talend, SQL, Python, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with GCP BigQuery and cloud data architectures.
• Ability to own production operations effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and teamwork.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Passionate about data reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ETL tools and cloud-native monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with database utilities such as DbWare.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of API testing with tools such as Postman.
