Description

The business goal is to develop an energy management system (EMS) for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) installations and hybrid installations combining energy storage and photovoltaic systems. The EMS will enable control, monitoring, and optimization of energy consumption, allowing investors to primarily maximize revenue from energy sales and services provided to grid operators — compared to installations without an energy management system (achieving NPV > 0 over a 7-year period and a phase shift in the cycle of less than 5%). Additionally, the system will ensure safe operation in compliance with contractual obligations. The developed EMS must also support deployment in future investments with varying technical parameters.

Scope of Responsibilities

Functional and integration testing of the EMS system:

• Accuracy of telemetry data

• Alert responses (SOC thresholds, temperature)

• Time synchronization (timestamps, NTP)

• Integrity of the arbitrage operation plan

• Offline/online testing (store-and-forward)

• Testing of business rules logic (alerts, schedules)

• Failure scenario testing (missing data, incorrect values)

• Preparation of acceptance checklists and test documentation

Technical Requirements:

• Experience in testing industrial / telemetry / IoT systems

• Familiarity with data formats: JSON, CSV, REST communication

• Basic knowledge of Power BI or App Insights for input/output data analysis

• Ability to document test cases and checklists

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with SCADA/BMS, Modbus, OPC UA
