Role Overview

As a Senior SAP Basis Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our SAP landscape, which includes SAP S/4 HANA 2023, SAP FIORI, SAP HANA 2.0, and various SAP cloud solutions. You will collaborate with a team of 7 (4 Basis and 3 Infra) to ensure system stability, security, and performance, supporting our dynamic, ever-evolving environment.

What You’ll Do

• Application & Database Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues in both application and database layers, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Maintenance & Upgrades: Apply patches, SNOTEs, and perform system upgrades (kernel patching, UI5 patching) to keep systems current.
• User & Transport Management: Manage user administration, authorizations, and implement transport management configurations.
• Configuration & Installation: Install and configure SAP applications, transforming security requirements into robust SAP settings.
• Database Optimization: Oversee partitioning, indexing, and offloading strategies for improved performance.
• AWS & Infrastructure: Leverage fundamental AWS knowledge (EC2, security groups, Route 53) and Linux/Windows administration skills.
• On-Call Rotation: Participate in monthly rotations to handle critical incidents and ensure system availability.
• Third-Party Integrations: Occasionally engage with tools like Workiva or Onestream, plus involvement in yearly audits (PCAOB, ITGC, ISAE, GDPR, SOX).

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of SAP Basis experience; 5+ years with SAP HANA (S/4 Hana, BTP, Netweaver).
• Strong SAP HANA Troubleshooting & Tuning: Performance optimization, partitioning, and configuration.
• Transport Management & SSO: Skilled in implementing transport management and configuring Single Sign-On.
• Security & Maintenance: Experience handling certificate renewals, system refresh, kernel patching, user admin, and authorization.
• AWS Fundamentals: Familiarity with security groups, EC2 instances, Route 53, and basic cloud administration.
• OS Expertise: Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Server administration.
• Disaster Recovery & System Recovery: Proficient in planning and executing recovery strategies.
• Flexibility: Willingness to take on dynamic tasks, occasionally work weekends/holidays, and learn new tools.

Nice to Have

• SAP FPSL, ALM, BTP, Analytics Cloud experience.
• SAP Certifications (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA Administration, SAP Fiori Administration, SAP HANA Administration).
• Scripting & Automations for streamlining operations.
• Audit Knowledge: ISAE, SOC, GDPR compliance.
• AWS Certifications and experience with Avantra.
