You are
As a Senior Data & Observability Engineer, you will take ownership of developing advanced Databricks solutions and Azure-based observability capabilities for one of our key enterprise clients. The role is predominantly hands-on (75% Databricks, 25% Power BI) with strong emphasis on autonomy, problem-solving, and proactive influence on the technical direction of the project.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in high-trust environments, naturally takes responsibility, and sees themselves growing into a future technical lead.
Your impact zone
Design, develop, and optimize Databricks pipelines using PySpark and Spark SQL.
Build and support Azure Observability components to ensure visibility and reliability across data ecosystems.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards as the reporting layer for business and technical stakeholders.
Implement and improve CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps (ADO).
Work with D&A Platform tools (FlexFlow, FlexShare, Metadata) to extend data capabilities.
Tackle complex and previously unaddressed client problems — providing clarity, structured thinking, and innovative solutions.
Take responsibility for capacity planning, task prioritization, and backlog management.
Proactively suggest improvements and identify new areas of value (light cross-selling) within a trusted client relationship.
Collaborate with both technical and business teams — contributing not only as an expert, but as someone shaping the direction of work.

Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — especially in non-standard or first-time scenarios.
Excellent organizational skills: capacity management, backlog structuring, task planning.
High self-reliance, ownership mentality, and ability to operate without constant direction.
Communication skills enabling smooth stakeholder collaboration.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Several years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or related role with Databricks focus.
Experience working with enterprise clients is a plus.
Extra stardust for
Experience with Databricks workspace administration.
Knowledge of Azure monitoring stack (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights).
Familiarity with metadata-driven or enterprise-scale data platforms.
Demonstrated readiness to take on technical leadership responsibilities.
