Senior Backend Developer (Node.js)

about the role 

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer who understands TypeScript & Node.js really well and who would like to work with AWS on daily basis.

And what would you do? Develop and enhance backend application for one of our main clients - an intergovernmental organization aiming to maintain international peace and security in the world.  The solution is supposed to be used by the organisation units in different countries (right now in Lebanon) to support distributing Payment Instruments to programme beneficiaries. Using those cards they can buy the food at local markets.

The aim of the application is to enable tracking of Payment Instruments: from the moment of request of issuance sent to banks, by sending PIs between the organisation offices, until eventually distributing them to the beneficiaries. When any change of custody happens, the PIs are scanned using the application so that each event can be recorded in the system.

System is developed on two platforms. Web application is used mainly to display logs of the events and current cards' statuses. Mobile application (on Android) enable scanning the cards, sending them between offices and distributing to beneficiaries.

preferred qualifications and skills

✔️  at least 3-4 years of commercial programming experience (including min. 2 years in backend development)
✔️  solid working knowledge and deep understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript
✔️ deep working experience with Node.js

✔️  experience with databases, in particular PostgreSQL
✔️  very good problem solving and analytical thinking skills
✔️  very good communication skills both in Polish & English

we would also appreciate if you have
 
✴  experience with React development
✴  familiarity with AWS or other Cloud providers
✴  familiarity with Agile methodologies
