Scrum Master

Position Overview 

As a Scrum Master in Blue Water Shipping, you will empower software development as scrum framework facilitator and coach who works with teams to adopt and use Scrum. You will oversee making sure the team is operating efficiently to accomplish its objectives and that the Scrum methodology is being appropriately implemented.

You will work with multiple development teams located in both Poland and Denmark. A close collaboration with a Product Owner to support team in delivery will be your primary focus.

Responsibilities: 

• Promoting and implementing agile practices and values, 
• Proactively assisting the team in focusing to create high-valued increments, 
• Balancing team learning with delivery to foster team dynamics and team growth, 
• Facilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring effective team collaboration, 
• Driving continuous improvement and challenging existing processes, 
• Supporting team members in overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals, 
• Using Azure DevOps to track progress and manage workflows, 
• Using Confluence to promote transparency of documentation, 
• Communicating effectively with diverse teams across different regions, 
• Collaborating with other Scrum Masters and BWS Agile Community.   

Your background: 

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business & IT, or related fields, 
• 2-4 years of experience as a Scrum Master for multiple teams, 
• PSM I or CSM certification, 
• Basic understanding of SAFe and other Agile frameworks, 
• High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to engage others, 
• Fluent English communication skills both written and verbal, 
• Experience working with diverse teams and cultures, 
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, 
• Strong facilitation and coaching skills, 
• Knowledge of agile workflow management tools such as Jira, Asana or others,  
• Understanding of modern software development life cycle and practices.

Practical Details 

Blue Water Shipping is headquartered in Esbjerg Denmark and our IT development teams are in Esbjerg and Gdansk. The primary location for this role is the Blue Water Shipping’s office in Gdansk, Poland. There might be occasional travel to Esbjerg in Denmark or Warsaw.
