AI Backend Engineer Python / Azure

Development of AI-powered solutions for automated document processing and information extraction across the full lifecycle—from design to deployment. The role focuses on backend development with Python, integration of LLM-based pipelines, and implementation on Microsoft Azure. Ongoing DevOps, maintenance, and continuous improvement are part of the project.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services for document processing
• Implement AI/LLM-based information extraction pipelines
• Integrate OCR and document analysis capabilities
• Develop APIs and system integrations
• Build event-driven and queue-based processing systems
• Ensure end-to-end integration with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP landscape)
• Support deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization

 Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with Python
• Experience with FastAPI
• Knowledge of LangChain and/or LangGraph
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Familiarity with:
  • Azure OpenAI
  • Azure Document Intelligence
  • Azure Blob Storage
  • Azure Storage Queues
• Understanding of event-driven architectures
• Experience with SAP integration (SAP Event Mesh is a plus)

Additional Information

• German language skills are required
• Experience with processing heterogeneous document formats (e.g., scanned and machine-readable PDFs) is beneficial
