Senior Cyber Security Engineer
The DLP & Insider Response team at Bayer is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Forensics, and Insider Risk technologies to join our security team. This critical role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud integration, security, and automation. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a globally distributed hybrid team that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and to effectively mitigate risks associated with data loss and insider risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage our hybrid cloud and on-premises network infrastructure
Grow our DLP & Forensic capabilities & onboard new technologies
Lead the migration and integration of network services
Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls & secure web gateways
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues
Proactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
Collaborate with other teams to ensure network connectivity and performance
Create and maintain network & change documentation
Stay current with the latest networking technologies, security threats, and industry trends
Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
A minimum of 7 years of experience in cyber security, with a specific focus on DLP
Strong understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and compliance frameworks
Proven experience with DLP technologies (e.g., Forcepoint, Netskope, Purview) and related tools
Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including good judgement & strong integrity
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in relevant field
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCFA)
Familiarity with cloud security solutions and practices
Experience working with highly sensitive & confidential topics
Language experience in the following: Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin
