Senior AI Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our dynamic team as we transition from a proprietary vendor invoice management system to a cutting-edge cloud solution provided by Esker. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our design team, administrators, and testers to enhance our development capabilities within an agile (Scrum) framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software engineering, with a passion for building scalable AI solutions. As an AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy intelligent systems that drive innovation and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement AI and GenAI solutions that address complex business challenges.

• Develop and optimize Machine Learning models and natural language processing pipelines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product management, engineering, and data science—to understand requirements and deliver robust AI systems.

• Apply software design patterns and testing methodologies to ensure reliability and maintainability of AI applications.

• Integrate AI components into production environments using REST APIs and CI/CD pipelines.

• Create intuitive data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders.

• Conduct data preprocessing, modeling, and management to ensure quality and consistency.

• Stay current with industry trends in AI, GenAI, and machine learning to continuously improve our technology stack.

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in AI engineering or a similar role.

• Advanced proficiency in Python and strong command of SQL.

• Solid understanding of machine learning and NLP techniques.

• Experience with software engineering practices including testing, design patterns, and agile development.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and REST API design.

• Exposure to big data technologies such as Apache Spark.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with data modeling, database systems, and data management fundamentals.
