Senior SAP BTP Developer

We are looking for a skilled SAP BTP ABAP Cloud Developer to support the development of modern SAP cloud solutions. The role focuses on designing and implementing robust backend applications using current SAP technologies and development best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend solutions in ABAP Cloud on SAP BTP for enterprise-grade applications across various industries

• Create scalable applications using the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP)

• Build and maintain CDS-based data models and business logic

• Develop, expose and consume OData services

• Configure and support Application Jobs, Communication Arrangements and Service Consumption Models

• Deliver clean, maintainable and well-documented code following best practices

• Collaborate with technical teams while independently driving assigned tasks

• Participate in all stages of the delivery lifecycle across DEV, QAS and PROD environments

Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP ABAP Cloud development

• Strong SAP ABAP programming skills

• Practical knowledge of RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP)

• Experience with CDS view entities

• Understanding of managed and unmanaged RAP implementations

• Knowledge of behavior definitions and implementations

• Experience with actions, determinations, validations and feature control

• Familiarity with EML operations such as READ ENTITIES and MODIFY ENTITIES

• OData V2/V4 service definitions and bindings

• Understanding of ABAP Cloud APIs and cloud development restrictions

• Experience with Communication Scenarios and Communication Arrangements

• Service Consumption Models and OData client proxies

• HTTP client handling in ABAP Cloud

• JSON/XML payload processing

• Application Jobs, Job Catalogs and Job Templates

• Application logging and structured error handling

Nice to have

• Unit testing and clean, testable code design

• SAP BTP IAM, business roles and business catalogs

• Performance optimization for CDS views

• Integration with SAP cloud and on-premise solutions

• Basic knowledge of Fiori Elements or SAPUI5

• Backend enablement for Fiori Elements applications
