Senior Information Architect (F/M)

We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Information Architect (he/she) for our client from the pharmaceutical industry.

Position:

The Information Architect is responsible for designing and governing the structure of data and information across cloud platforms, diagnostic systems, and scientific documentation environments. The role focuses on data modeling, metadata management, and information architecture to ensure data is well-organized, discoverable, and compliant with regulatory requirements in life-science environments.

You’re ideal for this role if you:

• 5+ years of experience in Information Architecture, Data Architecture, BI/Analytics, or data modeling

• experience working in life sciences, healthcare, pharma, diagnostics, or biotechnology environments

• familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR

• strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling concepts (OLAP / OLTP)

• experience designing data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data structures

• proficiency in data modeling and architecture tools such as ER Studio or UML

• experience creating metadata schemas, taxonomies, and structured information frameworks

• understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality practices

• ability to create ER diagrams, data flow processes, and architectural documentation

• experience working in regulated environments (GxP, pharma, diagnostics)

• ability to collaborate with solution architects, technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors

• strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

• experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and cloud-based data ecosystems

• familiarity with scientific or laboratory data environments and diagnostic platforms

• experience supporting enterprise documentation systems or knowledge management platforms

• understanding of UX/UI principles related to information architecture and content discoverability

• experience with data integration patterns and APIs in distributed systems

• familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks and master data management (MDM)

• experience working in large, cross-functional and international project environments

• exposure to analytics or BI tools supporting data exploration and reporting

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:​

• translating scientific, business, and regulatory requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models

• designing and maintaining data structures such as data warehouses, data marts, and analytical models

• developing and governing metadata schemas, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and navigation structures across digital platforms

• applying healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) in architectures related to diagnostic, clinical, and laboratory data flows

• creating ER diagrams, process flows, information maps, wireframes, and architecture documentation for cloud and diagnostic systems

• conducting usability testing, content audits, and user research to improve information discoverability and system usability

• supporting enterprise data governance initiatives, including metadata management, data stewardship, and data quality processes

• collaborating with solution architects, UX/UI teams, business stakeholders, documentation teams, and external vendors to ensure compliant implementation of information architectures

• evaluating and improving existing information structures and data models in line with UX best practices, regulatory requirements, and evolving scientific needs
