Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP CRM / SAP IS-U ABAP Consultant to join a technology-driven delivery team supporting a large-scale Agile Release Train (ART) using SAFe as the development framework. In this role, you will contribute to both engineering and implementation activities for SAP CRM and related integrations, ensuring stability, performance, and process quality across critical business functions.

You will play a key role in analyzing existing SAP CRM and SAP IS-U functionality and interfaces, deriving improvement measures, and implementing enhancements to optimize technical operations and data quality in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This position requires strong technical expertise, proactive problem solving, and effective communication in an agile delivery environment, with tasks managed through Jira and Confluence.

Project Context

The project focuses on the implementation, maintenance, and further development of non-commodity products within the Agile Release Train (ART) Integrated Proposition. The goal is the complete mapping of products and to ensure ongoing stability and performance of business processes across agent service processes, product setup, and order processing.

Salesforce plays a key role in collaboration with various other systems including MuleSoft, Inspire, SAP, Powercloud, SAP CRM, and SAP IS-U. Requirements emphasize high-performance, error-free enhancements to enable sustainable operations and the best possible data quality across interconnected systems.

As an external consultant, you will conduct analyses, derive concepts, and implement solutions in alignment with project objectives. You will independently perform tasks within the delivery team, while working in an agile framework, with requirements and activities defined through refinements and sprint planning in Jira.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Development & Engineering

• Enhance and improve SAP CRM and SAP IS-U applications and interfaces based on current technology, regulations, business needs, and SLAs/KPIs

• Develop using ABAP and ABAP Objects (ABAP OO)

• Create reports, classes, frameworks, and reusable components

• Enhance User Exits, BAdIs, Enhancements

• Implement and adjust interfaces using IDoc, RFC, BAPI, and Webservices

Analysis & Optimization

• Analyze existing SAP CRM / IS-U functionality and interfaces

• Identify performance and error patterns, define remediation measures

• Optimize processes to improve stability and quality

Monitoring & Quality

• Design and implement monitoring concepts including KPI definitions

• Support sustainable operations through performance improvements

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate implementation activities within the SAP environment

• Provide functional and technical guidance

• Create solution concepts and hand over documentation at project completion

Technical Requirements (Must Have)

• Strong expertise in SAP CRM

• Experience with ABAP / ABAP OO

• Knowledge of SAP CRM Web UI Framework

• Understanding of BOL / GENIL architecture

• CRM customizing experience

• Interface development (IDoc, RFC, Webservices)

• Experience with Jira and Confluence

• Good general infrastructure understanding

• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum / SAFe)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of SAP IS-U

• Experience with integrations (Salesforce, MuleSoft)

• Experience in the energy/utilities industry
