As Senior IT Product Architect, you will play a key role in shaping that journey by modernising the Retail technology landscape, guiding architectural decisions, and playing a central role in turning AI into a key enabler of future Retail solutions, says Senior Manager, IT Architecture Partner, Jesper Dalsgaard Laursen

How you will make an impact
As Senior IT Product Architect, you will help define and drive the technology direction for Retail solutions across Arla. Working closely with the Head of IT Product and Business stakeholders, you will combine architectural leadership with a strong understanding of business priorities to ensure scalable, secure and future-ready solutions. Your key responsibilities include

• Own the end-to-end product architecture for Retail solutions, aligning with business priorities and product strategy

• Lead architectural decision-making and solution design across the full product lifecycle

• Define and evolve the Retail technology landscape, ensuring scalability, consistency, and long-term sustainability

• Establish architecture standards, patterns, and roadmaps, including key integrations and data flows

• Partner with the Head of IT Product, business stakeholders, and domain experts to translate business needs into clear architectural direction.

• Drive adoption of AI-enabled solutions with a focus on real, measurable business value

• Coach and guide engineers and IT specialists to ensure strong architectural practices in delivery

To succeed in this role, you combine strong architectural expertise with a business-oriented mindset. You are able to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations and guide stakeholders towards scalable, value-creating solutions. We imagine the ideal candidate brings

• A relevant technical background in software engineering, solution architecture, or a related field.

• Experience designing IT solutions in complex matrix organisations, ideally in enterprise environments.

• Deep understanding of architecture principles, integration patterns, and end-to-end solution design

• Experience across applications, integrations, data platforms, and enterprise technology landscapes.

• Solid understanding of Retail or Commercial domains such as sales, pricing, customer processes, or order management.

• Hands-on experience leading development teams or guiding engineers, with the ability to connect architectural direction to practical delivery.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence both technical and business audiences

You will also play a key role in turning AI and emerging technologies into practical, value-creating solutions.

You will be based in either Gdańsk or Aarhus and become part of a strong senior architecture community within Commercial IT, collaborating with experienced product architects and helping to raise the overall architectural maturity across domains.
