Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services. We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission at the forefront of what we do make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.


Partner with the best

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will specialize in creating solutions that help improve automation and efficiencies across all internal teams. You will be expected to drive automation, operational excellence, and support our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems administration, configuration management, performance tuning, etc.


As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
  • Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
  • Improving, maintaining and developing internal tools and applications widely used within organization
  • Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues


Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent
  • Possess high level experience in a SysAdmin (Linux/Unix Administration), DevOps or Software engineering role, working with large scale distributed systems, ability to understand complex infrastructure
  • Possess at least one programming language (Python/Golang) and configuration management with Terraform
  • Experience with architecting software and infrastructure at scale
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the table
  • Possess SaltStack knowledge will be great
