About the role

As a Lead Backend Developer (Go), you will play a key role in modernizing a large-scale platform by shaping cloud-native services that support millions of users. This role focuses on building resilient backend foundations, influencing architectural decisions, and driving long-term technical evolution. You’ll work in a product-oriented, ownership-driven environment that values clean design, autonomy, and continuous improvement. It’s a strong opportunity to grow while contributing to meaningful, high-impact systems.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable microservices using Golang for transactional systems;

• Take ownership of infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code);

• Migrate data and logic from a legacy PHP monolith to Cloud SQL/Spanner;

• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define API schemas and requirements;

• Ensure high performance and reliability of services deployed to Cloud Run/GKE;

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.

  
  

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field;

• 5+ years of backend software development experience;

• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang);

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery);

• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools (this is a “you build it, you run it” environment);

• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems;

• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases;

• Upper-intermediate English level.

Nice to haves

• Ability to read and understand PHP (helpful for analyzing the legacy monolith during migration);

• Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers;

• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture.
