We are looking for a Database Administrator to join us in the groundbreaking project in Western Asia, aiming to build cognitive, hyperconnected cities and next-gen infrastructure from scratch. Work with our client on pioneering the development of a sustainable and cutting-edge mega and smart city.
Our goal is to deliver a data management platform based on GCP-managed services to produce sociodemographic statistics.
*Candidates should be open to travel to our client (Asian continent). This role requires approximately on-site presence, aligned with the GMT+3 time zone. In practice, onsite rotations have typically followed a flexible pattern, such as 3 weeks onsite followed by 5 weeks remote.
Your main responsibilities for this position will be:
- Manage and maintain Google Cloud BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Storage for unstructured data.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers on data ingestion, modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement databases aligned with user needs while ensuring availability, quality, and security.
- Define access roles and ensure timely delivery of data in the appropriate format.
- Monitor performance, apply updates, and perform regular tests to maintain data integrity and minimize downtime.
- Document database policies and provide support and training to end users.

- At least 5 years of practice in related roles.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with strong knowledge of Google Cloud BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Storage.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in BigQuery for SQL-based analytics and Cloud Spanner as a globally distributed relational database.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks like Great Expectations, and access control using IAM roles.
- Experienced in database design, backup and recovery strategies, documentation, and coding standards.
- Skills in database admin tools, APIs, and programming languages, with solid problem-solving and algorithmic thinking skills.
