UX/UI Designer Intern - Description
We’re looking for a creative, beginner UI/UX Designer who wants to support the development of Power Platform solutions and be a part of the Citizen Development Team at Volvo Group.
You’ll have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with an experienced UX/UI designer and highly skilled individuals. Every day will be filled with exciting new challenges, developing new skills, and achieving personal growth.
You’ll have the chance to work on a variety of different modern and pioneering projects, touching upon low-code development and other Digital Technologies. You will be a part of a great collaborative Citizen Development Team where you can develop your user experience (UX) and/or user interface (UI) design skills.
Who are you?
- You’re ideally a collaborative self-starter comfortable with structured chaos and with a learning & discovery attitude.
- You enjoy experimenting with emerging design trends and technologies while creating positive human experiences too.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for UX research, and visual design, including wireframing and prototyping
- Collaborate with development and operational teams to define and design user-facing features
- Ensure feasibility of UI / UX designs and wireframes
- Work collaboratively in short cycles
- Understand the customer via primary user research
- Contribute to continuously improving team productivity, tool, and technology adoption
- Use our data, company branding, and insights to collaborate with all vendors
- Present and communicate design results and processes to all interested parties
Required :
- Student status
- Readiness to work at least 30 hours a week (flexible schedule is possible)
- Experience designing for web and mobile, backed by an interesting portfolio
- Fluency in UX prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.
- Demonstrable UI/UX skills from sketching mock-ups to high-fidelity web design UIs
- Practical knowledge of UI/UX design best practices
- Great communication skills and English proficiency
- Creativity, initiative, open-mindedness and a “less is more” approach
- Aesthetic sense and a passion for usability
- Open to new experiences & eager to learn
- Ability to keep up and thrive in the fast-paced environment
- Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
Nice to have but not essential:
- Proficiency with Adobe Design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Knowledge of Agile methods like Scrum or Kanban
- Power Platform toolset basic knowledge
