About us
Aether Biomedical is a medical robotics company building the future of bionic limbs. We develop advanced bionic prostheses that process biosignals to restore autonomy to amputees. We are looking for a UX/UI Engineer who is passionate about creating intuitive interfaces for our connected device platform.
The Role
We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior level Designer who also possesses Front-End development skills. This role sits between Design and Engineering: you prototype, validate, and partially implement interfaces, then hand off production-ready concepts to the IT team or submit code for review.
Your Focus: 70% Design / 30% Development
User Experience: Research and map complex user journeys for patients and clinicians, simplifying biosignal data into intuitive workflows.
UI Design & Prototyping: Build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes in Figma that define the look and feel of our brand.
Front-End Implementation: Use your knowledge of React.js, TypeScript, and CSS to build and maintain the UI component library and implement front-end views.
AI-Assisted Implementation: Use tools such as Cursor, Claude, Juni (or similar) to generate, iterate, and refine UI code and prototypes.
Collaborate: Partner with robotics engineers and back-end developers to ensure technical feasibility without compromising on UX.
What You Bring
Design First: Extensive experience (Mid/Senior) in UI/UX design, with a portfolio that shows a strong skill in turning complex systems into simple and beautiful workflows
Development Skills: Comfortable (Junior/Mid level) writing clean, modern HTML, CSS and React.js.
Tooling: Mastery of Figma and familiarity with Git and modern dev workflows.
AI-Native Workflow: Practical experience using AI tools for coding, refactoring, prototyping, and accelerating delivery.
Quality Mindset: An eye for detail that ensures our medical applications are accessible, reliable, and high-performing.
Communication: Fluent English and the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Why Aether?
Meaningful Work: Your designs will directly impact how people interact with their bionic limbs.
Creative Freedom: Lead the design direction of a fast-growing medical robotics startup.
Environment: A friendly, flexible startup culture in the center of Poznań (Mostowa) with hybrid work options (3 days remote per week)
Benefits: Multisport and medical package
