About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our Developer Experience & Enablement Platform (DEEP) team. Within this team, we provide a trusted engineering foundation through reliable platform infrastructure, opinionated libraries and tooling, and clear architectural standards.
In this role, you’ll design and build robust foundations for internal applications used daily by more than 300,000 people across the company.
This is a high-impact position where you’ll work holistically across the stack, dive into complex technical challenges, and help shape the future of Tesco’s technical landscape.

You will be responsible for
What you'll work on :
Architect and build foundational components of critical internal applications; write RFCs/ADRs and drive technical consensus.
Play a key role in technical evolution of an existing platform.
Develop and maintain shared libraries, infrastructure, and tooling that support engineering teams.
Collaborate with product, architecture, programme, and engineering stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Promote engineering excellence through advanced engineering practices, automation, testing, and observability.
Key technologies:
Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, React, Micro Frontends, Microservices
Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform
CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD
Testing: Vitest, Playwright
Monitoring & Logging: New Relic, Splunk, xMatters
You will need:
7+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade applications.
Strong expertise in system design, frontend and backend development.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), infrastructure-as-code and networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, ingress).
Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.
Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, from concept to production.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
