Founding Deployment Engineer

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We're a European defence software startup operating between Paris and Warsaw. Our mission is to build modern software for hostile environments — our customers are European military and police units. We do not work on weapons systems or hardware products.

We're currently in stealth, but have been recognised as one of France's top 20 seed-stage companies. We're backed by a leading European defence VC and angels who include founders of well-known technology companies. Our founding team brings together deep software engineering experience and operational military backgrounds. Other team members include ex-Googlers, defence-sector PhDs, and ex-founders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a founding-team role. You'll work directly with the founders to deploy our prototypes with early customers, iterating quickly on what they need in the field. The core challenge is closing the gap between what the product does generally and what each customer requires specifically.

Expect rapid prototyping, bespoke integrations, quick fixes under pressure, and work that doesn't always scale — because getting real-world signal matters more right now than perfect abstractions. You'll get your hands dirty with audio streaming technology and real-time voice systems. Frequent travel to customer sites will be required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Software engineering generalist

You're pragmatic and product-minded, comfortable across the stack, and able to ship in environments that aren't clean or well-defined.

AI systems in constrained environments

Experience implementing AI in resource-constrained or operationally sensitive environments. You know how to make things work when conditions aren't ideal.

Audio and low-latency systems

Comfortable with audio processing and real-time systems. You don't need to be a specialist, but you can't be afraid of the domain.

Clear technical communication

You can translate complex system behaviour into plain language for non-technical stakeholders, including in high-stakes customer settings.

Familiarity with armed forces environments

Prior experience working with or within military or police organisations is a strong advantage. You understand how these customers think, decide, and operate.

High tolerance for ambiguity

You thrive when the brief is incomplete, the timeline is short, and the stakes are real. You figure it out rather than waiting for clarity.

THE TEAM

We're a small, senior team. Everyone here operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to take full ownership of their work. There are no layers between you and the decisions that matter. You'll work directly with the founders and have visibility into everything happening in the company.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary

€70,000 – €110,000 depending on experience.

Travel

Frequent travel to customer sites is part of the role.
