Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with specialised knowledge in API security, modern IT operational tools, and an advanced proficiency in Python development methodologies.

We appreciate an individual passionate for technology and excited about the impact of emerging / disruptive technologies such as the AI applications in the fintech/insurtech industry.

Responsibilities:

1.   Architect, design, and sustain efficient Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines, emphasising security audits and checks.

2.   Administer containerisation methodologies employing Docker, complemented by orchestration via Kubernetes or analogous platforms.

3.   Expertly manage and optimise cloud infrastructures, predominantly on platforms such as AWS, emphasizing peak availability, resilience, fiscal efficacy, and security.

4.   Architect, design, and maintain API gateways and management solutions, focusing on the best security practices.

5.   Monitor and audit API calls, cataloging anomalous activities and ensuring traceability.

6.   Pioneer ‘Infrastructure as Code’ initiatives with tools like Terraform and Ansible.

7.   Collaborate synergistically with backend developers - develop, optimize, and maintain tools and scripts written in Python that support backend initiatives ensuring all systems, especially APIs, meet functional and security standards.

Essential experience:

1.   DevOps & Infrastructure:

○     DevOps principles and methodologies.

○     Container management and orchestration - Docker and Kubernetes.

○     CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitHub Actions.

○     Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tooling

○     AWS infrastructure & utilities like EC2, S3, and Lambda.

1.   API & Environments Security:

○     API security threats and countermeasures.

○     API security tools and platforms.

○     API authentication and authorization mechanisms.

○     API gateways and platform management.

1.   Monitoring, Logging & System Security:

○     Monitoring suites like Prometheus and Grafana.

○     Logging platforms like ELK Stack or Splunk.

○     Application Performance Management tools, e.g., New Relic or Datadog.

○     Safeguarding system infrastructures, focusing on API security.

○     Secret management utilities.

○     Cloud security practices and utilities.

1.   Programming:

○     Python - experience in developing, testing, and optimizing scripts, familiarity with libraries and frameworks relevant to DevOps and API operations.

Soft skills:

●     Good communication in English, written and spoken.

●     Analytical and problem-solving prowess.

●     A proactive orientation toward challenges, emphasizing continuous professional enhancement in DevOps and security domains.
