The company specializes in the complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis and scheduling of networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, Near Earth Objects, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.
We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our team🚀
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure the stability, performance, and security of systems by regularly performing maintenance, updates, and monitoring system performance.
- Configure, install, and manage Linux servers, ensuring they meet organizational requirements for performance, security, and reliability.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, including firewall configurations, encryption, and access controls.
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
- Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of a system failure or data loss.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Linux environments to ensure proper authorization and security controls.
- Diagnose and resolve system, software, and hardware issues. Provide technical support to users and ensure timely resolution of tickets and incidents.
- Automate routine tasks using scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention for repetitive system administration tasks.
- Keep Linux systems up to date with the latest patches and upgrades, ensuring that all systems are running securely and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure continuity and facilitate troubleshooting.
- Optimize system performance by analyzing and adjusting configurations, resource allocation, and usage patterns.
- Work closely with development, network, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems within the broader IT infrastructure.
- Develop and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure the company can quickly recover from system failures or catastrophic events.
Requirements:
- Higher education in information technology, computer science, IT systems management or other related fields (at least bachelor’s degree).
- 3 years of experience on similar position.
- 3 years of scripting (preferably PowerShell)
- Proven previous experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems.
- Track record on supporting complex operational software.
- Ability to diagnose complex platform (software and IT) problems.
- Problem solving skills.
- Very good command of English language in writing and speech (candidate should be able to read and write technical documentation).
- Good communication skills.
- Driving license, cat. B.

The candidate must be from Bydgoszcz or the surrounding area to be able to quickly reach the office in Bydgoszcz or nearby in case of a failure or the need for work in the server room.
Nice to have:
- Python scripting.
- Experience with Grafana.
- Experience with Azure (Active Directory, code building pipelines).
- Experience with updates of global distributed, remote systems (limited bandwidth and network stability).
Terms of employment:
- Remote employment model (Bydgoszcz/Zielonka) - occasional visits.
- Salary: 10000 - 13000 PLN on employment contract depending on your experience and qualifications (possible to discuss B2B type of contract).
