Role Description:
We are looking for a Mid DevOps Engineer for Stepwise, Warsaw-based Software House, who would like to join an engineering-oriented company. Our mindset is strongly Developer oriented and what’s more important we believe in constant education and new technology discovery. The most important asset from your side will be a strong technical skill set and commercial experience in cloud based technologies.
We are looking for a person who is independent and would like to have a real impact on the products, the shape of teams and the way we work. In short, we are looking for a person who will: roll up their sleeves and start churning out great work from day one.

Responsibilities:
- Extend and improve our GCP / GKE infrastructure
- Automate ruthlessly to ensure a resilient, self-tuning system setup
- Curate our CI/CD pipelines to allow our developers to build and deploy features quickly and reliably
- Support at least 2-3 Client's projects
- Support our R&D projects
- Educate developers across the company and provide them with the tools to use the platform autonomously and safely (self-serve infrastructure)
Requirements:
- Hands-on in development/operations environments
- Experience and interest in Docker
- Experience or interest in Helm 3
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies
- Willing to learn and become (Google Cloud) Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer under Stepwise full support
- Clear communication skills and a diligent mindset
- Good knowledge of English is a must (spoken, written, by phone, etc.)
- Knowledge of one of the cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker / Podman and Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Willing to work in close cooperation with Client
- Willing to write tech blog posts and participate in meetups
Our Hiring Process
We have a quick and engineer-oriented hiring process. It will take 2 interviews that lead up to a potential offer.
- Firstly, we will assess your CV. If we think there might be a fit we will invite you to a screening call. Our aim is to get back to you in 5 days, however usually it’s 2 days.
- For the screening call we will schedule a short meeting with our HR Manager. This call will be an opportunity to chat about our mutual expectations. A part of this conversation will be held in English. If we think our expectations match we will invite you to a tech interview
- During the tech interview you will meet two engineers from our team. We won’t roast you with whiteboard questions, what we will want to discover though is: how you tackle the day-to-day challenges of a senior engineer
