Role:
Our goal is to remove the barriers between data and action, and provide people with the access to informative, predictive, relevant, and actionable data via the Splunk platform. This team focuses on Splunk Application Management, who are integral in the adoption and successful use of Splunk’s platform.
We are looking for an extraordinary software engineer to drive the technical direction and implementation of the Splunk Cloud application management experiences. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have a proven record of software delivery. This role requires cross-team collaboration with our product management, user experience, and documentation teams, as well as technical leaders from other engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and owns moderate complexity features or sub-systems.
- Designs for testability. Automates effective test cases, and can make necessary test framework improvements as required.
- Breaks down a complex task and estimates sprint sized software deliverables
- Analyze and optimize back-end code, and pursue simplicity, efficiency, reliability and performance.
- Use independent judgment to take existing code, understand its function and change/improve as needed.
- Engage in design and code reviews of the product, and use your knowledge of customers’ experiences to dedicatedly prevent future problems.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with a BS EE or CS degree, or equivalent training or work experience.
- Solid knowledge of Python, Go, C++ or another modern programming language.
- Experience developing, debugging, and performance tuning highly concurrent systems.
- Expertise working with thoughtfully designed Restful APIs and influencing API design choices.
- Mastery of test driven development, developing different levels of automated tests, such as unit test, functional test, and integration test.
- Excellent problem solving, collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
