Mid Java Developer
We are looking for a Java Developer to join Sopra Steria Polska for our project for a major aeronautical manufacturer. You will work in an industrial, stable environment in multinational team (France, Poland, Canada, India). The program involves wide portfolio of applications developed by multiple teams.
Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and have EU citizenship.
Responsibilities:
Implement solutions and deliver high quality software
Help to define requirements, create software designs and translate them into code
Create and test software to enhance the solution and all related modules and services
Shape and apply our software standards of clean code and performance optimization techniques
Being mentored by technical leaders
Problem-solving and challenge-driven discussion regarding solutions
Cooperation with the client
Code review
Unit testing, integration testing
Communication with other teams regarding solutions
Tech Stack:
Programming Language: Java 11
Databases: Oracle Database, PostgreSQL
DevOps & CI/CD Tools: Jenkins – Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, SonarQube – Code Quality and Security Analysis, GitHub – Version Control and Collaboration
Web Services: SOAP, REST
Must-have requirements:
Experience in Java 11 – Strong object-oriented programming skills and experience with enterprise-level applications.
Database Knowledge – Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, including writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
Version Control – Practical experience using GitHub for source code management and collaboration.
CI/CD & Code Quality – Familiarity with Jenkins for automated builds and deployments, and SonarQube for static code analysis.
Web Services – Solid understanding of SOAP and RESTful web services, including API design and integration.
Agile Practices – Comfortable working in an Agile environment with task estimation, client collaboration, and iterative delivery.
Testing – Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, SOAPUI).
Code Review & Collaboration – Familiarity with code review processes and tools; openness to pair programming when needed.
Communication Skills – Ability to clearly communicate with team members and clients, especially during requirement gathering and acceptance phases.
Fluent English B2/C1
Being open to occasional business trips abroad and visits in our office in Katowice (2 visits per month)
Nice to have requirements:
Knowledge of French
