Our customer is a successful start-up, which is now in process of converting to a regular company. The company is a leading digital road forwarder in Europe. They have an in-house-developed platform, that helps to avoid dependency on paper, phone, fax and is characterized by multi-layer subcontracting.
The assumption of the project is the digitalization of the logistics industry, both on a macro and micro scale, by providing a platform for uniting the ones who require the logistics services with the ones who can provide them. The project aims to provide a comprehensive solution for communication, management, service, and many other functionalities, which are daily challenges for key players and small logistics companies.
YOU ARE
A Python Developer with the following experience
- 2+ years in backend engineering
- Sound expertise in building backends, web services, and distributed systems
- Mastered building backends with popular ecosystems like Python, Ruby, Go, Java, or Scala. We use the Python ecosystem (Django REST Framework, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, etc.)
- Knowledge of and practical experience with different architectures, patterns, and programming paradigms,
- Practical skills with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD
- Being driven by data, build small prototypes to test assumptions, and do not buy into the latest hype and shiny labels. Linus Torvalds once said: 'Talking is cheap. Show me the code'
- Willingness to help other people, share your expertise, and being a mentor
- Fluency in English
YOU WANT TO WORK WITH
- Developing and supporting a complex solution in the cloud (AWS)
- Scaling up our engineering organization to evolve our backend, DevOps, and engineering practices to support the growth and work in many autonomous teams. We welcome new ideas and feedback
- Refactoring of the Django monolith, in order to provide support for the project during the technical reorganization of the project as new features, use microservices
- The whole project and a lot be done in order to keep things working meaning the current project, which is quite technically complicated
