Python Developer (with Spark)

About the project

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with Excel Macros and converting them into Python code, specifically within the Databricks environment. Additionally, a strong foundation in data engineering principles and expertise in Apache Spark are essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Excel Macros and understand their functionality.

• Convert Excel Macros into efficient Python code for execution in Databricks.

• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure seamless integration of Python scripts with existing data pipelines.

• Develop and optimize data processing workflows using Apache Spark.

• Maintain and enhance existing data solutions to improve performance and scalability.

• Document code and processes for future reference and compliance.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Expectations

• Proven experience in software development, particularly in Python.

• Strong knowledge of Excel Macros and their application.

• Familiarity with Databricks and its ecosystem.

• Experience with data engineering concepts and tools.

• Proficiency in Apache Spark for big data processing.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

• Knowledge of SQL and database management.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
