About the Products
We’re running some of Norway’s most trusted and respected niche brands:
Godt.no
Biggest cooking recipe page in Norway. Thousands of delicious recipes to draw inspiration from.
Pro tip: don’t try working on it when you’re hungry 😉
Tek.no
Tek is the most respected Norwegian review site. We deliver brilliant, crazy-detailed reviews of everything from mobile phones, pizza ovens to lawn mowers and strollers. Trust me, there are only a few places on the Internet that take testing as seriously as we do. Getting the ‘Best in test’ badge from Tek is a sign of pride and something that manufacturers put on their own billboards across Norway.
Nominated as Niche Site of the Year 2020 in Norway
Pent.no
Everybody checks the weather at least twice a day, so we got ourselves a weather forecast comparison site. Besides traffic, the most interesting part of it is probably… its stack:
100% serverless front & back (next.js + serverless)
About the Team
We’re a middle-sized team composed of 2 PMs, 2 UXers and 8 fullstack developers, even though most of us started as front or back devs.
Our code is 100% javascript (pure React or Next.js in the front, Koa/Hapi/Apollo GraphQL in the back). We keep a fair balance between typescript lovers and sceptics, use all the typical tools e.g. webpack, jest, eslint, build in Travis and deploy most of our portfolio to AWS (dockerized or serverless). We’re monitoring fanatics (aka Datadog fans), so in most cases we know something is broken before they do.
We do proper pair and mob programming whenever a single brain is not enough to see the light in the tunnel – yes, even now through live shares and such 🙂
We love to experiment with the latest tech and dedicate every second Friday to doing just that. Always bleeding edge, always looking to make our products better – for good and bad. Besides that, we kick ass in Schibsted’s hack days (
1st and
2nd places in the last two editions).
While coding is generally what we live for, we remember that going out can also be fun (even if not always ends up being healthy 😉 ), so even with the 11th wave of COVID approaching, we still stick together as if it never happened.
It’s hard to meet the team through a job ad, but you can try by watching us do some presentations:
About You
We’re looking for coding enthusiasts, not those who blindly move issues from ‘to do’ to ‘done’. We want you to always look at the code and think how to improve it. Over time, we want you to feel attached to our brands as we all do – almost as if it was our own startup.
We work in 2-week sprints, where it’s up to you to pick the tasks from the area you want to develop in. The tasks usually vary between styling, React, Node.js, lambdas and infrastructure.
Skills:
- You have a solid knowledge of Javascript; Typescript is more than welcomed
- Proficiency in React, real-world experience in the backend
- Your are familiar with at least some relational and non-relational databases (we use Aurora PSQL or DynamoDB ourselves)
- You have a good understanding of concepts and/or experience with continuous deployment and testing
- It would be great if you had some AWS/cloud experience, knowledge of Docker would definitely be a plus
- You are open, curious and eager to learn new things
- You’re active in meetings and good at turning the conclusions into actions
- You remain positive and motivate others to do better
