The Senior AWS Specialist within the business unit Global Infrastructure Services is responsible for supporting DB Schenker’s Cloud environments, considering our modern hybrid hosting architecture as much as the global support processes and tools.
The Senior AWS Specialist within the business unit Global Infrastructure Services is responsible for supporting DB Schenker’s Cloud environments, considering our modern hybrid hosting architecture as much as the global support processes and tools.
This role contributes to the Cloud Journey of DB Schenker by automating and maintaining the process of infrastructure deployment with the target cloud landing zones. Furthermore, this person will be part of the core Cloud Services team - leading and training existing and new infrastructure staff.
As Senior Cloud Engineer, you will:
- Participate in the Transformation project to move >5000 global servers to the cloud
- Operate and maintain cloud-based infrastructure components
(e.g. EC2 Instance based Linux or Windows Servers) - Monitor utilization, performance, availability of system components & services
- Provide second level support for infrastructure components of cloud-based application stacks
- Conduct log analysis and patch management to ensure system integrity and security
- Contribute to planning and implementation of failure and disaster recovery test
- Utilize DevOps principles & tools to devise work strategies for automated processes to deploy & maintain virtual datacenter components in our cloud stacks
- Create and maintain strategies to avoid risks and builds disaster recovery solutions
- Act as a tech leader for our Cloud Services Team
A great candidate would have:
- At least 6+ years’ of relevant experience
- Experience in Windows or Linux administration (preferably both)
- 2+ years’ of hands-on experience with AWS
- Experience in a support role
- Ability to lead and share knowledge
- Fluent Business English (written and spoken)
An ideal candidate would also have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud solutions
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Foundation Level)
- Experience in applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) paradigms
- Knowledge of IT security regulations and standards such as ISO 27001
