Data & Analytics Platform Product Director is responsible for setting the priorities for one or more areas of one of D&A Platforms Team products and/or x-platform work, collaborating with others, across product, engineering and architecture, to understand different points of view and arrive at clear definition of opportunities.
- Understands the customer needs and translates them into user stories that are valuable, feasible, and can be prioritized in the product backlog that aligns with available engineering and architecture capacity and D&A strategy
- Makes hard choices, balancing the trade-offs between feature building, technical debt, speed-to-market and performance, among others
- Communicates the status of the digital product to stakeholders, is able to articulate the specific opportunities it is addressing and ties the adoption metrics to business goals
- Communicates the digital product strategy to the dependent teams, breaking down organizational barriers and involving senior leadership when needed
- Dedicates more time making strategic decisions than tactical ones, driving the long-term strategy for the digital products
- Defines the roadmap, and guides the digital product team on “what” should be built for the product area
- Person in this role may also lead other more junior digital product managers and and is seen as the “go-to” person for other teams in relation to the digital product under their responsibility
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering
- Previous experience working hands-on in product management
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role leading individual contributors
- Strong communication abilities to communicate technical concepts to teammates and non-technical colleagues
- Experience following Scrum and SAFE methodologies
- Experience with cloud native development (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Azure fundamentals az-900 certificate
- Databricks lakehouse fundamentals
- Certification as Professional Scrum Master (PSM) preferred, but not a must
- Certification in DevOps Foundations preferred, but not a must
