Data Center Engineer – Hosting & Virtualisation

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Center Engineer specializing in Hosting & Virtualisation to support the operation, deployment, and optimization of virtualized environments and hosting infrastructure within a high-availability data center. This role involves managing virtual platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability of hosted services across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM)
• Maintain and optimize hosting environments, including virtual machines, templates, and clusters
• Monitor system health, resource usage, and performance to ensure uptime and efficiency
• Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and capacity expansions
• Work closely with storage, network, and application teams to ensure integrated infrastructure operations
• Support backup and recovery processes for virtualized environments
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with operational and security standards
• Participate in incident response and perform root cause analysis

Requirements:

• Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) in enterprise or data center environments
• Strong understanding of virtual networking, resource management, and HA/DR configurations
• Familiarity with hosting infrastructure, server hardware, and hyperconverged solutions
• Experience with management tools such as vCenter, SCVMM, or VMware Horizon
• Basic knowledge of storage and networking concepts in virtualized environments
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift rotation
• Relevant certifications (e.g. VCP, MCSE) are a plus
