Virtualization Engineer

Your responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining the virtual computing infrastructure (e.g., VMware vSphere, Nutanix)

• Overseeing monitoring solutions for virtual environments

• Patch management

• Handling data protection tasks, including backups and restores

• Supporting, monitoring, and administering hardware servers, fibre optic fabrics and data storage

• Diagnosing and resolving issues in virtual environments

• Optimizing system performance and planning for capacity needs

• Advising on and applying recommended operational and security practices

• Keeping technical documentation and operational procedures up to date

• Carrying out changes in line with IT change management processes

• 2nd line support to internal teams and cooperating with 3rd line of support

• Participating in project meetings

Our requirements:

• Min. 2 years of hands-on experience in administration of virtual environments (such as VMware vSphere or Nutanix) and min. 5 years of experience in the IT sector

• Certificate VMware VCP-DCV 6.X or higher, or a related similar certificate

• Practical familiarity with tools used for monitoring such as VMware Aria Operations

• Background in performing lifecycle activities (updating/upgrading) for virtual platforms and their associated components

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

• Experience working with different technical teams and support units within larger IT organizations

• Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured operational practices covering change/configuration/release management
