L2BEAT is a research company working on analyzing the emerging space of Layer 2 solutions on the Ethereum blockchain. We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to help us build software that provides our users with tools, metrics and insights about the L2 space.

Working with us, you’ll have the opportunity to lead our website team and be responsible for the backend that supplies data to the l2beat.com website, as well as the website itself. The backend is built in TypeScript on Node.js and utilizes a PostgreSQL database, while the frontend is statically generated with React.

We’re looking for a person based in Europe, as most of our team works within the CET/CEST time zone.

We're Seeking a Senior Developer with:

• Fluency in the English language, as our team is multinational and effective spoken and written communication is a requirement for working with us
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset to tackle challenges in innovative ways
• Experience in leading teams and managing software development projects
• Technical proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with a proven track record in backend and frontend development. For this position backend development skills are more important
• Understanding of relational databases and intricacies of data processing and querying. We work with PostgreSQL in our tech stack
• Love for software development best practices and an appreciation for simple solutions to complex problems
• Eagerness to work with blockchain technologies, including Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions, and a willingness to dive deep into new and emerging technologies

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience with blockchain technologies, Ethereum, or Layer 2 solutions is a significant plus but not a requirement. For this position being a good developer is what we value the most.
