We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic team working for one of our key clients in the sports industry. This role is part of a collaborative squad dedicated to supporting and enhancing a production platform critical to their global operations. You'll play a vital role in maintaining and developing solutions within the NSP 3 platform, ensuring its functionality, scalability, and security align with the high standards expected in the competitive sports market.

As part of this team, you will develop and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring adherence to industry best practices like clean code, test-driven development, and design patterns. You’ll also work with cutting-edge technologies, leveraging tools like Apache Kafka for efficient data processing and creating abstractions over Kubernetes workloads. Additionally, you'll participate in on-call support shifts, scheduled collaboratively within the team to ensure coverage and maintain platform reliability.

Expected competencies and knowledge

• 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years of expertise with Java
• Practical experience with AWS services and a foundational understanding of Apache Kafka
• Proven ability to design and maintain RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, clean code principles, and test-driven development
• Strong English communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes operators, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Ansible
• Familiarity with Golang for platform enhancements
• Availability to work on-site in Gdansk 2-3 times per week for closer collaboration with the team

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality software in Java that aligns with best practices and the security requirements of a global sports leader
• Maintain and enhance the NSP 3 platform, addressing bugs and implementing new features to support the client’s operational needs
• Create abstractions over Kubernetes workloads to improve platform efficiency and scalability
• Collaborate with teams across time zones, including alignment with the client’s team in Portland (PST)
• Participation in on-call support shifts, scheduled collaboratively within the team to ensure coverage and maintain platform reliability
