Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).
As a Database Administrator, you will be working for our client, a leader in digital business automation solutions. You will support mission-critical Linux platforms and enterprise systems, ensuring reliable operation, optimal performance, and seamless integration across complex infrastructure. This role is pivotal in driving resilience and efficiency in a dynamic, production-facing environment—perfect for professionals eager to shape the backbone of digital transformation.
Your main responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) in a production environment.
- Manage patching, upgrades, backup, restore, and recovery validation to ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize database performance through tuning.
- Analyze incidents, contribute to root cause analysis, and support incident resolution.
- Conduct log analysis at database and Linux levels to maintain system health.
- Collaborate with Linux admins and application teams to troubleshoot interactions between database, application, and OS layers.
- Execute weekend changes and perform database operations during controlled maintenance windows, including pre- and post-change validations.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota for incident response and support outside regular hours.
- Provide input for risk assessments related to database changes.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 4+ years of experience as a DBA in production environments.
- Strong Linux (RHEL) knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL databases.
- Proven experience supporting mission-critical systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Experience with backup and recovery, replication/HA, performance tuning, and log analysis.
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Shell scripting or automation skills.
- Experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway, IBM Connect:Direct, or BMC Control-M.
- Exposure to financial services or regulated environments.
- Supporting batch/file transfer platforms.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent in English (excellent command).
