Data Architect with Spark - e-Commerce Engineer
Remote work opportunity (visiting the office 1-2 a month in Warsaw if needed).
As a Data Architect, you will be working in a Digital Team for our Client - a global payment company. Our client is a global leader in commerce-enabling technology, serving approximately six million business locations and 4,000 financial institutions in more than 100 countries around the world.
Your key responsibilities:

As a Data Architect, you will be working in a Digital Team for our Client - a global payment company. Our client is a global leader in commerce-enabling technology, serving approximately six million business locations and 4,000 financial institutions in more than 100 countries around the world.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design stable, reliable and effective databases, ETL processes, and event streaming solutions
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
- Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
- Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols
- Modify databases and streaming systems according to specifications and perform tests
- Provide data management support to users
- Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
- Liaise with other developers to improve applications and establish best practices
- Gather user requirements and identify new features
- Develop technical and training manuals
- Performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance of data system
You are ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Previous work experience as a Database/ ETL developer
- In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. recovery, security, and monitoring)
- Knowledge of software development and REST API
- Working experience with Spark, MongoDB, SQL databases,
- Working experience with Spring Boot 2, Java, Scala or PySpark
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Very good command of English
