The Information Technology department of Íslandsbanki is a collaborative group of software development professionals who work together following best practices and processes to deliver high quality software solutions and capability.

As a front end developer you will be working with a front-end team developing a new and innovative online bank solution. You will be working with other engineers, product managers, and QA on a daily basis, to constantly evolve our app and online bank. You should feel confident in your development skills and open to diverse opinions so that we can make the decisions on how to build our best solutions.
Responsibilities and duties
- Participate in product development through cross team collaboration.
- Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and client requirements for software.
- Designing software for automatic testability, recoverability from failures, built in privacy and security.
- Development of intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of our customers.
- Continuous improvements of operational software, automation, testing, monitoring, performance and overall quality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience with Angular, SASS/SCSS, Bootstrap is required.
- Adapting interface for modern internet applications using the latest front-end technologies.
- Making complex technical and design decisions for Angular projects
- Conducting performance tests
- Ensuring high performance of applications and providing support
- Experience using Storybook a plus
- Experience writing both unit and e2e tests (preferably Cypress), Swagger/OpenApi, and design systems ( such as Figma) is preferred.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.
- Passion for automating everything, RESTful API first development, data and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working in Banking or Fintech is a plus.
- Experience working with our overall technical stack is a plus but not a requisite: Kubernetes, Docker, GIT, MSSQL, .NET Core/C#, OAuth / OpenID Connect.
