Job Description Summary

In this role, the purpose of the Senior Systems Engineer is to ensure the Systems Engineering Team have advanced technical knowledge and senior expertise to deliver, enhance and maintain the products in their scope i.e. OsiPI Historian, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) solutions and other Historian platforms.
The Senior Systems Engineer is involved in product lifecycle management from activation to BAU support and finally to retirement.
In this role as a Senior Systems Engineer you will provide technical consultancy, business analysis, support to system configuration and testing during product delivery as well as support to service design, service transition, system administration and operations, incident and problem management for Manufacturing Analytics platform like Data Historian and OEE solutions.
The role delivers and supports applications that underlie critical factory processes. It impacts on the make, ship, pack of products from manufacturing to customers. Foundation to ensuring compliance and quality in the process followed and the products made which drives Trust for GSK.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer, with these required skills to achieve our goal;

  • Technical knowledge of Historian and OEE platforms; subject matter expertise in manufacturing and operations systems like OsiPi and OSiPi.
  • Partnering with in-house and external Support & Delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle from activation to BAU management and then retirement
  • Fluent application and improvement of DevOps model, team tools and processes, ownership of resolution/delivery of larger product backlog topics/features (operational and delivery), including assessment and proposal of technical solutions. Coordination with the team on provisioning of technical support for incidents and problems, as well as data or configuration changes as required
  • Consulting and solving complex issues (in Operations and Delivery), Leading individual workstreams, and coordination of x-streams among DevOps subgroups, other GSK teams, external vendors, partnering with business users, in-house and external teams
  • Ability to perform basic administrative tasks on Windows Server, Experience in server-based applications (on Windows Server) installation process (visual wizard-based installation, following the technical instruction, understanding XML file contents
  • Ability to interact with SQL Databases and knowledge to write SQL queries, Ability to configure and monitor tags within OSI PI and Kepware or have expertise with a similar Historian product, Ability to create dashboards within PI Vision and Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following skills and experience, it would be a plus:
  • Experience in team coordination
  • Stakeholder management
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • ITIL, SCRUM and other Agile methodologies, Project Management certificates (preferred)
  • Fluent English
  • Exposure of supporting shop floor manufacturing systems and appreciation of control systems/PLC that provides machine data
  • Good experience of GxP requirements
  • Good understanding of Data Historian and OEE Systems
