emagine is a high-end professional services consultancy and solutions firm specialising in providing business and technology services to the financial services sector, we power progress, solve challenges and deliver real results through tailored high-end consulting services and solutions.

We have created a culture of openness and integrity by building genuine and strong relationships and partnerships, enabling us to be uncompromising in our dedication in delivering the optimal service for our clients. Our commitment is not just towards our clients but we aim to foster a positive and equitable working environment with our consultants and colleagues which stems from our core values: Confident, Dedicated, Responsible, Genuine.

The primary purpose of this role is to serve as the central driver for Model Validation of KYC (Know Your Customer) Transaction Monitoring (TM) models, ensuring that they meet required thresholds and tolerances for regulatory compliance.

This position sits at the central coordination point for model rollout, ensuring robust governance and risk management frameworks are in place and aligned with business rules (typically from Transaction Monitoring).

Main Responsibilities

As a Model Validator, your core duty will be to oversee KYC Transaction Monitoring models to ensure regulatory compliance and effective performance.

  • Review and validate KYC Transaction Monitoring models

  • Ensure appropriate thresholds and tolerances are applied in line with regulatory and business requirements

  • Act as the central coordination point during model rollout, ensuring governance and risk frameworks are effectively implemented

  • Work closely with data scientists, developers, and risk teams to ensure full traceability of models

  • Confirm that validated models are operating as intended, performing appropriate checks and ongoing monitoring

  • Document the end-to-end rationale behind models — capturing the what, why, and how, including supporting evidence and decision-making processes

  • Produce clear and structured reporting on model performance, including validation status, safety, and justification for implementation

  • Utilize data analysis to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in model performance

  • Proactively identify gaps and risks across models, data, and documentation, ensuring appropriate mitigation

  • Perform “sanity checks” in collaboration with data scientists to validate assumptions and outputs

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive informed, pragmatic decision-making and ensure accountability

  • Balance regulatory requirements with practical delivery constraints (e.g. time, accuracy, and implementation feasibility)

  • Operate both strategically and at a detailed level, contributing hands-on to validation, documentation, and delivery

  • Maintain high-quality, structured documentation of validation processes, decisions, and outcomes

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience in Transaction Monitoring (TM)

  • Proven experience in a model validation role, ideally within financial services

  • Experience working across cross-functional teams (data science, development, risk)

  • Strong understanding of model validation processes, including tracking timelines, issue resolution, and performance monitoring

  • Demonstrated ownership of documentation quality and validation standards

  • Ability to ensure models are appropriately validated and compliant with internal and external requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive decisions and hold stakeholders accountable

  • Ability to make pragmatic decisions and trade-offs between ideal outcomes and delivery constraints

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities

  • Familiarity with KYC regulations and practices

  • Experience with Quantexa

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques

  • Knowledge of broader financial regulations beyond KYC
