Senior Test Automation Engineer (ETL/DW environment)

Project for Senior Automation QA on a project in the data/ETL/DW area with SQL and Python skills required.

Automated testing in an ETL/DW environment, including data quality checks, data migration tests, validation of ETL and data integration processes and comparison of data in different structures e.g. using Python/Pandas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Propose and deliver test automation solutions for the MDP D&I programme's business/ IT requirements in terms of Data Quality controls and technical enhancements.
• Coordinate with key Business and IT stakeholders to understand and refine the requirements for test automation, perform an automation feasibility study, and develop automation solutions.
• Choose the Testing method/libraries to use (e.g., for data comparison, use a Python data structure or pandas or something similar).
• Review the technical solutions developed by the peer test automation team members.
• Review and sign off the enhancements.
• Maintain the MDP Test Automation architecture, code repository and structuring of automation suites.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 8-10 years of working experience in Quality Assurance Engineer & testing process.
• At least 5 years of experience in test automation in Database, DW & ET framework,
• Expertise in ETL/Data Warehouse/Data Migration Testing & SQL Joins.
• Hands-on experience in the Hadoop Ecosystem (HIVE and HDFS).
• Knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
• Expertise in Test Automation framework, preferably Robot Framework.
• Expertise in Python Scripting.
• Exposure to Git and using Git commands.
• Hands-on experience in Jenkins or other tools.
• Good communication skills to enable good collaboration with IT and Business stakeholders.
