Overview:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be anchored in our data platform product team. You will form partnerships with various lines of business, participating in projects, workshops, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) with data engineers and product teams. Your expertise will support our partners, potentially involving long-term assignments to specific products.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and operate data platforms or applications to meet complex data and analytics needs.
  • Promote and implement DevOps principles within the team.
  • Work closely with colleagues and bring them along in their professional development.
  • Use infrastructure as code to implement and integrate cloud-native data storage solutions with high automation and quality standards, including significant use of Databricks.
  • Address issues or performance bottlenecks in cloud infrastructure.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain a repository of technical designs, processes, and procedures.


Requirements:

  • At least 6 years working as a Cloud Engineer or in a related position.
  • Expert knowledge of AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and ability to implement security measures for data protection and compliance.
  • Experience with CI/CD, modern build, test, and deployment tools in large organisations.
  • Strong skills in Python and at least one other language, with experience in writing and refactoring code.
  • Understanding of infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with containerization, container clusters, and/or serverless.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.


Nice to have:

  • Experience working in a regulated industry is an advantage.
  • Experience setting up or using Databricks is a plus.
