Lead Fullstack Engineer in AI (Python, TypeScript)

Busienss trips: Yes, to Copenhagen twice a year. Besides that, 2-3 times per year for 1-2 days to Warsaw.

On-boarding: First day at work is also in Warsaw office (we are providing laptop and phone). Then 2 weeks long onboarding in Copenhagen.

We’re looking for two Lead AI Fullstack Engineers to help drive improvements in GenAI products for stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll be a part of the AI and Analytics Centre of Excellence within Digital, Data & IT, where the focus is on creating high value, innovative data products. You will be anchored in a product team for the development of a new AI Marketplace product.

The position

We are looking for a Fullstack engineer who is excited about building quality Generative AI solutions and energized about making a large impact for users and patients of our client. The applications bring cutting-edge AI innovation to thousands of scientists, data scientists, ML engineers, and users in the line of business. The apply healthy engineering principles, and ambition is to deliver the best AI solutions. The role is skewed toward backend but will also involve frontend work at times.

Used stack:

Python, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, OpenAI, Langchain, sometimes Streamlit, GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline to both Azure and AWS, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Grafana

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and develop testable business logic for the applications and POCs.
• Languages used: Python, Typescript and some React.
• Unit and integration tests using pytest, Jest & Vitest.
• Build integrations to other systems and databases.
• Ability to understand complex business domains and design features that solve complex problems in a simple and coherent way.
• Assisting users with issues, troubleshoot complex interface related errors.
• Work closely with stakeholders and line of business to understand user requirements and system functionality.
• Update technical documents, attend team meetings, and actively participate in ideation of innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in relevant subject with 7+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in Python development.
• Proficiency in Typescript development.
• Experience in React developmet.
• Experience working with Terraform.
• Comfortable querying SQL databases.
• Experience of taking an application from idea to production.

Software Engineering Skills:

• Professional collaborative software engineering experience with Git, peer reviews.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Experience with containerizing software using Docker.
• Understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• Takes responsibility for all aspects of an application's lifecycle.

Cloud Platforms:

• Proficiency in cloud platforms Azure and/or AWS.

Soft Skills:

• Highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
• Passion for writing good, testable, and well-documented code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Additional Qualifications

• Data integration knowledge is a plus.
• User research or UX experience is a plus.

The AI and Analytics Center of Excellence is a team of data scientists, analysts, machine learning engineers and developers, partnering across the organization to deliver impactful end to end data products, analytics and ML solutions spanning from Research, to Commercial and Production. Their goal is to industrialize and democratize the way they do AI, reducing the lead time from PoC to Production with scalable data platforms, MLOps, reference architectures and modularized components that span across the whole data and ML lifecycle. They are cloud native and work primarily in AWS and Azure. They work agile, embrace continuous learning and a culture of feedback and honesty.

The group is part of the larger area of BI, Data Management and Analytics, where they get to work closely with the data lake, data marketplace and data science platforms, having cross-functional power to quickly design and implement scalable solutions as well as take care of operations.
