Electrical Design Engineer - Senior PSCAD

We are looking for a proactive and flexible consultant to support offshore wind farm projects within portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in power system studies using PowerFactory and PSCAD. The consultant will be expected to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project demands.

Main Responsibilities

• Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).

• Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances, and fault scenarios.

• Draft clear, audit-ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid-connection workstreams.

• Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation, and parameterization.

• Summarize findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with standards across multiple projects.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.

• At least 5 years’ hands-on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add-ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady-state and RMS analyses.

• Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.

• Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post-processing.

• Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates with strong data confidentiality practices.

• Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.

• Ability to work independently while following established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with additional software tools related to power systems analysis.

• Knowledge of offshore wind farm technologies.

• Knowledge of international standards applicable to electrical engineering.
