Bottomline
We’re growing here at Daltrey. We are on a mission to build the future of identity access management using biometrics, and it’s time to take our development up a level: we are looking for a Mobile Developer to join our team.
We are searching for someone who geeks out on the latest web and mobile technologies, and who is inspired to move security and biometrics forward as a field.
Who we are
Born in Australia and with a global team and vision, Daltrey is a technology start-up building the future of cybersecurity. Our vision is to redefine how identity is used to create safer, more secure environments for organisations big and small. In essence, with our cutting-edge technology we are setting a new standard in biometrics and identity-defined security.
Our people mission is pretty simple: we want to create a diverse, happy and high-performing team. We do that by truly caring about the person you are, and what makes you tick. We embrace and celebrate our differences, interests and crazy ideas. We’re not afraid to think differently, do things differently and dream big.
Oh, we should mention that our employee share scheme will ensure our success is your success.
Who you are…
We’re looking for a dynamic, sharp-minded and ambitious Mobile Developer to integrate with our Development team. With your knowledge of mobile platforms, you will be a key enabler in facilitating the use of our unique biometric identity solution.
You will be designing, developing, and contributing to securing our mobile applications (iOS and Android), as well as providing insights to UX and performances aspects.
It’s ok if you don’t have all the skills yet, as long as you learn really quickly and can then push beyond that learning too.
Picture yourself in the role
Reporting to our Chief Security & Information Officer, Julien Bringer, this is a hands-on development role where you’ll be responsible for developing our core mobile application across iOS, and potentially later also Android.
If you were here this week, here’s what you’d have done and gotten involved in:
- Specified and developed new parts of the front-end of our core mobile application
- Integrated two new libraries into our iOS mobile application
- Participated in all aspects of our Agile Scrum process
- Contribute to developing knowledge in development in mobile technologies and best practices on secure software development
- Had entertaining banter with our team over Slack
- Met with Julien Bringer to talk through your OKRs, how they’ve tracked this week, and shared some wider knowledge on developer processes with the rest of our development team
- Participated in four architecture design discussions
- Supported the technical design process by having participated in the analysis of a set of technical application requirements
Your background
We are open minded about your experiences and background. As a guide, the types of things people have done and demonstrated prior to Daltrey include:
- A demonstrated understanding of web and mobile technologies, and proven experience on iOS and Android projects – ideally developing in C/C++/O-C. If you’ve also developed in Swift/Java that’s even more useful
- Probably 2+ years of experience in embedded software
- Perhaps some UX/UI experience on mobile
- Relish the challenge of technical problem solving, and always eager to learn latest technology
- As a bonus, experience in design and/or development of payment/digital ID solution such as EMV/NFC systems, and any experience in secure programming techniques is a plus
- Potentially some knowledge of the end-to-end software development cycle
The tech-stuff
First and foremost we are looking for extremely fast learners. That said, the types of technical skills people may have some of what we’ve listed below:
- Certainly at least a Bachelors degree or Computer Science or a closely related field
- Strong experience in C, C++, Objective-C
- Some knowledge of tools like Swift, Xcode, Android NDK, CMake, Android Studio, Java
- Perhaps some exposure to compilation optimization
- Any knowledge of Spongy Castle, Android keystore, iOS crypto, Android Account Manager, OKHTTP or similar, sql cipher or similar, proguard or similar is fantastic
- An interest in IT security and cryptography
