About the role:

This is a professional-level position in the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Organization of VISA. The PRE is responsible for providing support to critical highly available applications under Value Added Services. 

Main responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, detecting problems, performing root cause analysis, identifying, and implementing permanent solutions. 
• Interaction with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Clients, Risk, and various groups within Technology.
• Participation in capacity planning and design reviews to identify design gaps in supportability and resiliency
• Bring creative curiosity and technology experience to work every day and help build dashboards, audits, alerts, and solutions.

Key requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, and at least 2 years of work experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Production support working in a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills and experience with Containers, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Skills and experience with Hadoop and Kafka.
• Skills and experience with Linux and UNIX.
• Experience with Hazelcast.
• Experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to understand and write complex Database queries.
• Skills and experience with Java, J2EE, and scripting technologies.
• Ability to analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, garbage collection, and other related JVM components.
• Working knowledge of production support processes such as incident/change/problem management, call triaging, and escalation procedures using tools such as Service Now.
• Strong execution and analytical abilities. Ability to solve complex production problems.
• Dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious individual with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Prior working experience with payment and transaction domains is advantageous.
