Software Engineer

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing at senior level being part of a key engineering team who are responsible for delivering market-leading digital products and services for a global CBRE business line. The senior software engineer will be responsible for ensuring collaboration with other team members to hit all their technical objectives and deliver best in class products and services which meet the highest standards. The senior software engineer will support the software engineering lead to the design and architecture and will ensure that all solutions comply with corporate and cyber security standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, document and implement solutions in alignment with the product roadmap.

·         Participate in the product delivery team to ensure they meet all their technical and non-technical objectives 

·         Investigate, design, develop and document new solutions as required.

·         Translate business requirements and roadmaps into tangible technology capabilities.

·         Contribute in technical design and architectural activities to support the software engineering lead in his decisions.

·         Work with the team to ensure that the most appropriate technologies are employed across the portfolio.

·         Ensure solutions adhere to the corporate cyber security standards and follow development best practice.

·         Support others within the team during the development phases 

·         Ensure solutions meet the core technology principles/standards of the portfolio 

·         Work with the wider technology organisation to establish an exceptional working knowledge of the organisations                           technology platform and capabilities

·         Prioritise and optimise the product backlog with both the product manager and scrum master

·         Participate and support effective user story development

·         Fluent English in speaking and writing

·         Proven track of successful projects in software development and software design

·         Previous experience working in a senior/lead development or IT/Solutions architect role

·         Proven experience designing highly-complex, interconnected solutions and services

·         Experience working with cloud services

·         Working knowledge and experience of all core Microsoft development technologies

·         Knowledge of the core principles of object-oriented development and coding best practices

·         Passionate about technology & aware of the latest technology trends

·         Working experience in leading and supporting others.

·         In-depth understanding of developing with and/or integrating with databases, ERP platforms and third-party platforms.

·         Management of project resources and third-party suppliers

·         Knowledge of mobile, web, database and reporting technology platforms.

·         Strong presentation and communication skills

·         Awareness of cyber security standards

·         Solid experience working with the following languages: C#, .Net Core, SQL

·         Deep understanding of the Microsoft development stack including Azure cloud services

·         Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB

·         Experience in deploying globally scalable platforms

·         Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and zero downtime deployments

·         Experience in any Front-End framework like React JS

·         Ability to design effective software with an efficient user experience

·         Good working knowledge of mobile application and web development 

·         Understanding of API Authentication Methods
