Our client’s team is working on the internal enterprise platform committed to allowing development teams to build high-performance web applications using Laravel and robust AWS SAM-based microservices.

As we continue to expand our reach and enhance our offerings, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Operations Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. 


As a Senior Operations Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our platform's infrastructure and operations. Your expertise in AWS, coupled with a deep understanding of web application and microservices architecture, will be crucial in ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and resilient. You will collaborate closely with technical teams to troubleshoot issues, design customized solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our platform. 


What you'll do in this role:

  • Provide operational support for our Laravel-based web applications and Python-based microservices, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage and optimize AWS services, including EC2, ECS, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, DNS management, and ALBs, to support our platform's infrastructure using IaC tools (CloudFormation and Terraform).
  • Collaborate on improving design and architecture of our platform.
  • Implement the latest security best practices for web applications and microservices, safeguarding against threats and ensuring compliance with industry and standards.
  • Work directly with end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues, offering technical guidance and support to enhance their experience.
  • Work with other internal technical teams on designing and implementing company best practices and security policies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing, microservices architecture, and operational best practices to drive innovation within the platform. 


We're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations support or a similar role, with a focus on web applications and microservices
  • Experience working in a highly technical role within a regulated environment with Pharmaceutical/life sciences highly preferable
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, ECS, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, DNS management, ALBs and IaC tools like CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Proficient in web application security principles, microservices architecture, and the ability to implement scalable systems
  • Proven experience in containerization technologies, with a deep understanding of Docker
  • Experience with a broad range of AWS services, preferably with at least the Cloud Practitioner certification. Dev or Architecture certifications preferred.
