Platform DevOps Engineer

What you can expect 

The DevOps System Team at Baloise is a cross-functional software/system engineering team with involvement at all phases of the application lifecycle that embraces the DevOps method of communication, collaboration and integration. We're building and maintaining the DevOps platform for our engineers from all of our country subsidiaries. We provide tools, integration and processes for our DevOps teams, so they can independently build, deploy and operate their applications up until production.  

Your qualifications: 

• High proficiency in Git  

• Deep knowledge of RedHat OpenShift/Kubernetes, Prometheus/Grafana, Jenkins, Ansible 

• Good understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Firewall, etc.) and CI/CD automation practices 

• Experience in developing in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Go, Python, .NET C# or similar) 

• Experience with Hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, etc.) and Linux containers and distributions 

• Experience with administration of Splunk or other central logging and reporting solutions  

• Very good English skills; German is a huge plus

Your tasks: 

• You will manage version control and artifact repositories, ensuring a streamlined workflow for tracking code changes and managing binary assets. 

• You will leverage a tool chain to build, test, and scan application artifacts, aiming to enhance software quality and security. 

• You will oversee automated deployments on OpenShift/Kubernetes and VMs, optimizing the delivery pipeline to production environments. 

• You will monitor applications to proactively address and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high performance and system reliability.
