Bbot is a rapidly growing startup that makes smart ordering technology for bars, restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality establishments. As an early member of the team, you'll drive the growth of the company by ensuring that customers are successfully supported.
As a Database Administrator at Bbot you will specialize in Postgres performance, specifically locks and query optimization. You will be given the opportunity to make key infrastructure decisions that shape Bbot’s reliability team for years to come.
Candidates for this position must have experience with AWS, RDS, and Postgres. Additional knowledge of Django, specifically unrolling Django ORM queries into Postgres queries, is a strong plus.
What you will do:
- Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications
- Tuning database performance
- Checking queries before releasing them to production
- Ensuring that industry best practices are followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for AWS RDS
Required Experience and Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills. Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems
- Current hands-on working knowledge of AWS Databases such as RDS
- AWS Certified Developer Associate (preferred)
- Additional knowledge of Django is a strong plus
- Ability to quickly learn how to use Bbot’s software technologies
- Ability to use technology for remote team collaboration
