Junior Backend Software Engineer

Junior Backend Software Engineer

You'll become a junior member of our engineering team. Your journey will likely begin with our internal applications, which are designed to streamline our' workflows. These include tools like Slack chatbots or time tracking and absence management (written in GO), as well as Airtable apps for recruitment processes.

After gaining experience, you'll transition to client-facing projects. In these teams, you'll have the chance to familiarize yourself with our work methods and take on your first assignments for external clients.

Along the way you’ll get opportunities to learn new technologies, especially AWS and be mentored by more experienced colleagues.

You will:

• Develop high-quality code under the care of an experienced engineer
• Develop your skills, utilizing the wide range of experience within Appliscale
• Work closely with our customers to understand requirements and ensure we are delivering our best for them.
• Use the knowledge acquired at the university to develop a real-world application

Requirements:

Must have 

• Understanding programming paradigms and ability to apply them
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• At least good knowledge in one high-level programming language e.g. Java, TypeScript, Go, Python or C++
• Good communication skills

Nice to have 

• Previous work experience in international companies
• Virtualization experience - Docker
• Cloud computing experience - AWS/Kubernetes
